Sandra Kelch is an award-winning Bay Area artist, designer and academic. Sandra received her BFA as a full scholarship from The Cooper Union School of Art, and her MFA from The Cranbrook Academy of Art.

As a graphic designer, Sandra has been working in the field for over 20 years at numerous design firms in both NYC and San Francisco including Adobe Systems, Pentagram, MCA, PCWorld, Publish Magazine, Russek Advertising, SBG Partners, Man Bites Dog, Zimmerman-Crowe Design, and The Design Room, to name a few.

Sandra has been teaching art and design since 1995 at USF, SFSU, CCA, CCSF and the Kala Art Institute. She has served as the Coordinator of Visual Communications at San Francisco State University, and currently is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco, and City College of San Francisco.

Her fine art works on paper have been exhibited throughout the Bay Area and NYC at Mina Dresden Gallery, The Berkeley Art Center, Market Street Gallery, SOMARTS gallery, Amuse Gallery, The Houghton Gallery, Tercera Gallery, and have been sold through The Bay Area Visual Arts Network.

Sandra Kelch is an award-winning Bay Area-based designer and design professor. Sandra received her BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art, and her MFA from The Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has received awards for her publications and poster designs from AIGA, Print Magazine, and the Society of Publication Designers.

Sandra has been working in the field for over 20 years as a graphic designer, art director and creative director at numerous design firms in both NYC and San Francisco. These firms include Adobe Systems, Pentagram, MCA, PCWorld, MacWorld, Publish Magazine, Russek Advertising, SBG Partners, Man Bites Dog, Zimmerman-Crowe Design, and The Design Room.

Her private practice, SKA+D, helps to promote non-profits and socially, ethically and environmentally responsible businesses and organizations through a range of design services including identity systems, websites, publications and collateral materials.

Sandra Kelch is a Bay Area-based artist, designer and academic. Sandra received her art education from The Cooper Union School of Art (BFA), and The Cranbrook Academy of Art (MFA). Sandra‘s training in printmaking has been from The California College of Art and The Kala Arts Institute, where she has studied with Claudia Bernardi, Kazuko Wantanabe, Amanda Knowles, Tom Wojak, Jack Ford and Nora Powels.

Sandra works mainly in Monotype, incorporating relief, chiné collé, drypoint and drawing. Her works are of modern abstract compositions that act as printed textiles, incorporating pattern, geometric shapes, and layered textures.

Her prints have been exhibited throughout the Bay Area and NYC at Mina Dresden Gallery, The Berkeley Art Center, Market Street Gallery, SOMARTS gallery, Amuse Gallery, The Houghton Gallery, Tercera Gallery, and have been sold through The Bay Area Visual Arts Network and Andrea Schwartz Gallery.

Currently Sandra teaches Publication Design, Professional Practices in Design, and an interdisciplinary class in Design Fundamentals. Her past teaching has included all levels of graphic design and typography, package design, information design, and Design for Social Change.

She has received awards for her publications and poster designs from AIGA, Print Magazine, and the Society of Publication Designers.
